Cats and Harley update.
Did I mention that I have 3 cats ? Two are barn cats and Sammy-pants is an indoor cat. Sammy is a girl, we assumed she was a boy until we took her to the vet when we first got her. Here is Sammy
She is a trouble maker but I love hearing her gallop thru the house! She also is the cat detective. If something is going on , Sammy is there to watch! If only she could talk. Here she is making sure the printer is working.
And playing with Homer
Homer and Harley are brothers, about 5 years old now. We call them the 'Bobcats' because they are both about 12 pounds of solid cat. Homer is the grey tabby, Harley is the handsome black and white. That black spot on his nose was so small when he was a kitten, it looked like a speck of dirt!
Here's Homer in his favorite sleeping spot, Randy's sock basket!
And here's Harley at the barn, love his green eyes!
And a full length shot of Harley
Harley recently had a run in with a car, cow, or horse. He's doing better and I think we are going to save his eye. Poor guy hasn't been feeling well. I've been medicating his eye every 3 hours to make sure we save it. Until about two days ago, his face was so swollen he couldn't even close his eye. Hope that green eye makes a comeback!

what's old is new again
This is a little project I've had going for quite a while. If you know me, no big surprise.
My mother gave me this well used table cloth that goes perfectly with my dining room. But, when she gave it to me, those stripes in the middle were napkins! And the table cloth was just the pretty flowered fabric. I needed it to be bigger, so I bought the green solid fabric, and did a little quilting project.
In the close up you can see the decorative sewing stitch i used to sew down the seams. I found some yellow napkins that i'm going to embroider on but for now, a new tablecloth for Claire!

Whats going on?
Well, its been a while but its hard to blog from my ipad! And, I'm a great procrastinator. BIL and SIL came to visit and helped us with our latest project. What do you think this is all about?
Look at this good-looking team! ..
And did you guess yet? We are replacing all the previous electric fence with sheep worthy fencing. We ended up with 6 different sized areas that will be great for rotational grazing, as well as the paddock.
AND, if you asked 'when are the sheep coming?' You owe me a sheep!.

Cold weather present from my friend
A few weeks ago when it was still COLD here, a friend of mine made me some working mittens. They are open so I can type with my fingers. Since we were trying to save energy and only using the firewood insert for heat, my office was very cold. These mittens were AWESOME! Thank you Anna Marie.
Nellie's quilt
Randy's Aunt Nellie asked me to finish sewing and do the quilting on this quilt from a 2007 shop hop. I am very pleased with the final product and these are my best feathers to date!
and here's a closeup .

Spring snow and dog play!
Just a few days ago we had almost 80 degree weather. Today we got 5-6 inches of snow! Here are some of my daffodils braving their snowy coat. I hope they survive! I should have cut some to bring inside, but you know how that goes.
The dogs wanted to go out so I brought my camera. Here is Callie, you can't tell but she has snow on her nose, silly girl.
And last is Fly after the play. She was the only one to collect snow balls like this. I had to give her a bath to get them all off.
Enjoy the videos of them playing. I thought they were all cute.
Stay warm and I hope this melts quickly!

Do you know this block.
I remember seeing this block, I drew four of them below, on someone's blog last year. It is a very simple block but i loved the star created when you twisted them as below. Does anyone know where to find it?
Thanks!
